Floor covering shall be in good condition. Lead-free paint shall be used for all painted surfaces. An individually assigned sheet and blanket shall be provided for each child twelve (12) months and older who naps or sleeps. Upper levels of bunk beds shall not be used. Violation The requirements for availability and understanding of the Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Homes and Child Day Care Centers in Missouri were not met as evidenced by the caregiver(s) was/were unable to reply knowledgeably to the question(s) about the licensing rule(s) in that Misty Snell did not know correct staff/child ratio; number of children in her care; requirement for sheets and blankets; requirement that exit not be blocked and that children must be allowed to leave their cots after 1 hour if awake. Licensing Rule Reference 19 CSR 30-62.102 Personnel (1) (H) states: The provider shall have available a copy of the Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Homes and Child Day Care Centers in Missouri. All caregivers and volunteers working directly with children shall be required to review and be knowledgeable of the rules at the time they begin work and shall be able to understand and apply those rules which relate to their respective responsibilities. Correction Required Licensing rules shall be available; adults working directly with children shall be knowledgeable of the rules.

Violation Requirements for the nap or rest period for preschool children were not met as evidenced by child(ren) was/were forced to remain on sleeping equipment more than one hour when awake. Licensing Rule Reference 19 CSR 30-62.182 Child Care Program (1) (A) 6. states: Preschool children who do not sleep shall rest on cots or beds at least thirty (30) minutes, but shall not be forced to remain on cots or beds for longer than one (1) hour. They shall then be permitted to leave the napping area to engage in quiet play. Correction Required Caregivers shall provide supervised nap or rest periods, and quiet activities for children who are awake as required.
