Violation The temperature of rooms was less than 68 degrees F measured two feet from the floor as evidenced by the following facility rooms being measured below 68 degrees F: the Sloth Room (66F), the Toucan Room (67F), the Orangutan Room (65F), the Chimpanzee Room (66F), and the Tiger Room (66F). Licensing Rule Reference 5 CSR 25-500.082 Physical Requirements of Group Day Care Homes and Day Care Centers (2) (A) 5. states: The facility shall be dry, temperature controlled, well-ventilated and free of drafts. Children shall not be overheated or chilled. The temperature of the rooms shall be no less than sixty-eight degrees Fahrenheit (68 F) and no more than eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit (85 F) when measured two feet (2') from the floor. All space heaters observed by CI Fyfe were removed from the above listed classrooms. Licensing Rule Reference 5 CSR 25-500.087 Fire Safety (13) (A) states: Unvented fuel-fired room heaters, portable electrical space heaters, or floor furnaces shall not be used during child care hours.
