Compliance Inspector (CI) JD Greer conducted an unannounced investigation of the allegation that a child walked off the little playground and handed me a dismantled vape pen. I've told admin and nothing was done about it. The allegation is substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.082(1)(I) which states, "All flammable liquids, matches, cleaning supplies, poisonous materials, medicines, alcoholic beverages, hazardous personal care items or other hazardous items shall be inaccessible to children."
On April 12, 2023, CI Greer interviewed Director Jessica Tran who stated a teacher came to her and said they found a vape pen on the playground. She cannot recall which teacher said that.
On April 12, 2023, CI Greer interviewed Caregiver Francis Hutchinson who stated she heard a vape pen was found on the playground.
On April 12, 2023, CI Greer interviewed Caregiver Regina Parker who stated Child A (2 years old) found a vape pen on the playground. It was her vape pen and it fell out of the top of her shirt. Child A grabbed the vape pen before she could pick it up.
On April 12, 2023, CI Greer interviewed Caregiver Samantha Birdsong who stated Child A, who found the vape pen, is her son. It occurred on the afternoon of March 2, 2023. Caregivers Regina Parker and I'munique Moody were outside with their class. Caregiver Parker came and told her that Child A found her vape pen on the playground.
