On October 12, 2023, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received an allegation that All in the Family Child Care Center LLC was not clean and had mice. After conducting an investigation, Compliance Inspector (CI) Patrick O'Malley has found this allegation to be substantiated based on the following evidence:
5 CSR 25-500.082(2)(A)9., which states the following: "The facility shall be clean at all times and free of dirt, insects, spiders, rodents or other pests."
On October 12, 2023, CI O'Malley conducted an unannounced inspection of the facility and observed a mousetrap in the closet of the infant/toddler 1 room; the trap was not accessible to children. CI O'Malley observed an invoice for Mo's Pest Control, which showed payment on September 6, 2023. CI O'Malley observed clean floors, sinks, and tables throughout the facility.
CI O'Malley conducted interviews with LLC member Harlan Smith and registered agent Sophia Smith, who both stated that Sophia Smith reported seeing a mouse in the infant/toddler 1 room at the beginning of September 2023. Harlan Smith and Sophia Smith both stated that the facility was being treated for mice monthly.
