Compliance Inspector (CI) Heather Radney conducted an investigation of the allegation that the provider is caring for too many children without a license. The allegation is substantiated based on the following information:
RSMo 210.211.1 - It shall be unlawful for any person to establish, maintain or operate a child-care facility for children, or to advertise or hold himself or herself out as being able to perform any of the services as defined in section 210.201, without having in effect a written license granted by the department of elementary and secondary education.
On January 10, 2024, CI Radney conducted an unannounced investigation at 2837 Southgate Loop, Sedalia, MO 65301. CI Radney observed Alexia Figueroa, assistant, present with seven children including the provider's 7 year old, 4 year old and 3 year old children, and a 2 year old, a 2 year old, a 3 year old and 18 month old.
On January 17, 2023, On January 17, 2024, CI Radney conducted a telephone interview with provider, Clarissa Craig. Her children are 7 years old, 5 years old and 3 years old and live in her home. She is caring for seven children, not including her two school age children. She is in the process of becoming licensed.
