On January 2, 2024, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received an allegation that: Not all staff members did the required trainings for 2023. After conducting an investigation, Compliance Inspector (CI) Michelle Honea has found this allegation to be substantiated based on the following evidence:
5 CSR 25-500.102(3)(A): which states, "The center director, group childcare home provider, all other caregivers, and those volunteers who are counted in staff/child ratios shall obtain at least twelve (12) clock hours of child-care related training during each calendar year. Clock hour training shall be approved by the department."
On January 5, 2023, CI Honea conducted a phone interview with director Laura Haslag who stated that all teachers have completed the 2022 hours that are required. She thinks that the teachers are up to date on 2023 hours but is not sure without looking. She will double check on the MOPD system to see if teachers are current on clock hours. If the teachers have not completed the 2023 clock hours, she will have the teachers get that completed. She will email CI Honea the MOPD clock hours.
On January 5, 2024, CI Honea reviewed the MOPD training log that was printed for the facility, and it showed the following hours needed for staff for 2023: Madison Decker to needs 3 hours, Reese Groner needs 5 hours, Jamie Iven needs 1 hour, Emma Kremer needs 1 hour, Shelby Tyree needs 1 hour, Paige Weed needs 2 hours, and Kaelyn Wegrzyn needs 3 hours.
