On April 23, 2024, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received a complaint alleging Caregiver Connor Hunsaker has been observed pushing Child A's (20 months old) face into his cot multiple times. Compliance Inspector (CI) JD Greer conducted an unannounced investigation and found the allegation to be substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.182(1)(C)3. which states, "Only constructive, age-appropriate methods of discipline shall be used to help children develop self-control and assume responsibility for their own actions."
On April 23, 2024, Compliance Inspector (CI) JD Greer interviewed Parent A (Parent of Child A), who stated back in August or September they saw on camera Caregiver Hunsaker push Child A into a cot.
On April 25, 2024, CI Greer interviewed Caregiver Chelsi "Connor" Hunsaker, who stated he has been present in the room with Child A during nap time. If a child is having trouble laying down during nap time he will go and sit next to them. He will place one hand on their legs or back and the other hand on the side of their face. If they child attempts to get up he will give pressure to keep them laying down. The pressure will be applied through his hands to the side of their face and back or legs. He has used this technique on Child A.
