This happened in the morning after outdoor play. Kylie helped Kelsey bring the children inside the building and neither caregiver did a head count to make sure all the children were present. Child A walked into the building herself from the playground and no one was aware she was missing until she came into the classroom. Kylie and Megan both stated that Kelsey did not ever do head counts for her class. All caregivers were aware that Child A was a wanderer and did not like to line up.
Child A said that she was outside by herself one time. She was in the caterpillar and heard her teachers say to line up but she didn't want to go inside. She went inside by herself.
