On June 27, 2024, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received a complaint alleging that staff is not trained properly to care for these infant. Staff is not forced to do any training. Compliance Inspector (CI) Heather Radney conducted an investigation of the allegation and found it to be substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.102(4)(A)3. - The child care provider, group child care home provider, child care staff members, and volunteers shall complete safe sleep training described in subsection (4)(A) of this rule within thirty (30) days of employment or volunteering at the facility.
On September 9, 2024, CI Radney observed the safe sleep training on the Missouri Professional Development (MOPD) website for Giggles-N-Grace Preschool LLC. Misty Johnston and Makenzy Cutbirth do not have safe sleep training listed in MOPD. Their start dates are both April 29, 2024.

The facility shall review all caregiver (paid employees and paid or unpaid volunteers) records to ensure that all caregivers have completed safe sleep training within 30 days of hire and is current within the past three years. Training must be obtained from the Missouri Professional Development (MOPD) System. Verification of completion shall be documented in the MOPD System. The training must be completed by September 30, 2024.
