On August 22, 2024, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received a report alleging that Child C is a vegan whose mom packs her lunch everyday. Compliance Inspector (CI) Heather Radney conducted an investigation of the allegation and found it to be substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.202(1)(A) - The provider shall supply and serve nourishing food according to the Meal and Snack Food Chart provided in this rule.
On September 3, 2024, CI Radney conducted interviews with Alexa Baird, Avery Pilkinton, Caroline Bohn, Eric Pilkinton, and Mandi Pilkinton. Caregivers reported that Parent C provides a lunch from home for Child C.
On October 15, 2024, CI Radney conducted an interview with Parent C. She reported she pulled Child C from their care in August 2024. Parent C reported upon enrollment, she asked the facility if she could bring Child C's food from home and she was told she could. She provided Child A's food from home the entire time she was enrolled, which was one-and-a-half years.
