On February 3, 2025, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received an allegation of the laundry room door is always wide open with chemicals and cleaners stored at child-accessible heights. On February 6, 2025, Compliance Inspector (CI) Christy Hughes conducted an unannounced inspection of the facility and found the allegations to be substantiated based on the following information.
5 CSR 25-500.082(1)(C) which states: "Children shall have no access to areas not approved for child care."
AND
5 CSR 25-500.082(1)(I) which states: "All flammable liquids, matches, cleaning supplies, poisonous materials, medicines, alcoholic beverages, hazardous personal care items or other hazardous items shall be inaccessible to children."
On February 6, 2025, Compliance Inspector (CI) Christy Hughes conducted an unannounced inspection of the center and observed the laundry room door to be propped open with the following supplies accessible to children: laundry detergent, laundry sanitizer, bleach and pine-sol floor cleaner.
