On July 3, 2025, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received an allegation of only one teacher in the early mornings to answer the door and attend to infants and toddlers, and school age children. On July 3, 2025, Compliance Inspector (CI) Christy Hughes conducted an unannounced inspection of the facility and found the allegations to be substantiated based on the following information.

The space shall be separated by floor-to-ceiling walls with separate play, sleeping and bathroom space;"
On July 3, 2025, (CI) Hughes conducted in-person interviews with director Sarah Spurgeon and caregiver Rebecca Crawford.
Sarah stated that Rebecca opens the facility at 6:00 a.m. by herself and she usually came in around 7 to 7:15 a.m. She kept track of the numbers and would be in before Rebecca got to 10 children. Rebecca brought her own 2 children with her at 6:00 a.m. The age range of the children in Rebecca's care before she arrived was 12-months-old up to 12-years-old. Rebecca was caring for all children while attending to the door.
Rebecca stated that she was the opener at 6:00 a.m. and she brought her 2 children with her. She was caring for up to 10 children ranging in age from 1-year-old to 12-years-old by herself until Sarah arrived and she never had more than 10 children in her care. The front door has a keypad on it, and she was required to open the door for the families.

The facility shall notify all staff members of the violations which were substantiated, and specify the actions to be taken by all staff in order to comply with all violations cited. A copy of the memo, letter, or staff meeting agenda shall be submitted to the Office of Childhood.
