On July 22, 2025, the Office of Childhood (OOC) receive a report alleging Mrs. Jones is nowhere to be seen and Parent A has been given excuse after excuse as to when she's coming back. Compliance Inspector (CI) JD Greer conducted an unannounced investigation and found the allegation to be substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.102(2)(A)3. which states, "The licensee is required to maintain an approved certificated group child care home provider or center director on staff."
On July 28, 2025, Compliance Inspector (CI) JD Greer interviewed Teacher Hajara Abdulkarim, Teacher Rukhaiya Washington, and Teacher Sadiya Yunusa. Hajara stated Director Marilyn Jones had informed her that she would be out July 4 2025, to July 11, 2025, for a medical procedure. Marilyn was planning to return to work July 15, 2025. Hajara attempted to contact Marilyn multiple times, and she never returned her calls. Marilyn never told the facility that she was leaving. The facility currently has no director. Rukhaiya stated she has not seen Marilyn in a couple weeks. Sadiya stated she has not seen Marilyn in two weeks.
On July 28, 2025, CI Greer interviewed Parent A (Parent of Child A), who stated she has not seen Director Marilyn Jones in a couple weeks.
On July 28, 2025, CI Greer attempted to contact Director Marilyn Jones. CI Greer left a message and did not receive a return call.
