On October 3, 2025, the Office of Childhood (OOC) received a complaint alleging that ants crawl in the baby bottle section. Compliance Inspector (CI) Heather Radney conducted an investigation of the allegation and found it to be substantiated based on the following information:
5 CSR 25-500.082(2)(A)9. - The facility shall be clean at all times and free of dirt, insects, spiders, rodents or other pests.
On October 8, 2025, Compliance Inspector (CI) Heather Radney conducted interviews with Ashley Foglio, Debbie Owen, Gracie Perryman, and Jessica Dailey. Ashley reported they had ants over the summer by the door. Gracie reported she thinks they had ants over summer. The last time she saw an ant was last week maybe. Jessica reported they had ants last summer. Parent A took a picture of ants that she observed. She only saw the ants in the baby bottle section when the picture that Parent A took circled around.
On November 17, 2025, CI Radney received and reviewed a document from Parent A. There is a photo of ants that appear to be on the inside of a cabinet door. There are baby bottles in the cabinet. The ants appear on the door and edge of the cabinet.
On November 17, 2025, CI Radney conducted an interview with Parent A. She reported she observed ants along the window and door, in the cabinets and around the trash can.
While it appears that there are no ants present at the time of this report, the facility was not free of ants at all times as evidenced by an incident where ants were inside the building over summer.
