Facilities whose plans were approved or were initially licensed after December 31, 1987, shall have a community living and dining area separate from resident bedrooms with at least twenty-five (25) square feet per resident. The community living and dining area may be combined with footage required for another long-term care facility when the facility is on the same premises as another licensed facility. Facilities that are required to comply with the requirements of 19 CSR 30-86.043 licensed prior to November 13, 1980, must have a living room area but they are exempt from minimum size requirements. Facilities licensed between November 13, 1980 and December 31, 1987, shall have a community living area with twenty (20) square feet per resident for the first twenty (20) residents and an additional fifteen (15) square feet per resident over a census of twenty (20).
